Sunaina SardanaSunaina Sardana (PhD) superannuated as Professor of Commerce at Lady Shri Ram College for Women University of Delhi, in June 2023. She completed her graduation, post-graduation M.Phil. and PhD from the University of Delhi. She has taught in University of Delhi for nearly 44 years, out of which 42 years were in Lady Shri Ram College for Women. She has been actively involved in the academic, co-curricular and administrative activities in LSR, including the Bursarship for two terms. She had been a visiting faculty member to the postgraduate students of Delhi University, Department of Commerce and Department of Finance & Control intermittently. She completed an innovation project, namely 'Reverse Logistics - An Innovative Approach to a Sustainable Environment', sponsored by UGC. She has authored several books in addition to the Articles published in various National and International Journals. She has been actively involved in the evaluation of PhD theses of different Universities of India. She has been on the Panel of several workshops and seminars in academic as well as Industrial Organisations. She has also been the Resource Person for the Faculty Induction Programme in Universities like JNU. She has been actively involved In the making and revision of courses at the University level.

Reassessing Global GDP Data Accuracy in the Digital Era

GDP’s reliability as a measure of economic performance has been increasingly undermined by rapid digitalisation of production and consumption between 2010 and 2024, particularly through the under-capture of intangible assets and cross-border digital value flows. Using secondary data from the IMF, OECD, and World Bank alongside simulated datasets, the study identifies structural biases in traditional national accounting frameworks and substantial cross-country differences in the extent of digital undercounting. A mixed-methods approach combining statistical trend analysis with qualitative interpretation quantifies the scale of this under-representation and highlights the resulting distortions in official GDP figures.
