Alistair Milne is reader in banking and finance, and member of the banking research centre at Cass Business School, London. He is currently also a visiting scholar at the Monetary Policy and Research Department of the Bank of Finland, and special adviser to the Risk and Strategy Division of the UK Financial Services Authority. Previously he has worked at the Bank of England, the University of Surrey, London Business School, HM Treasury and the Government of Malawi. He holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics, and has published papers on a wide range of academic and policy topics. He is the author of a forthcoming book on the credit crisis, The Fall of the House of Credit (Cambridge University Press, July 2009).
