Jo Burgess (Barbier) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Colorado State University (CSU), where she is also affiliated with the School of Global Environmental Sustainability (SoGES). Dr Burgess is an environmental and resource economist with special interests in forest land use, wildlife management, trade and environment, and environmental risk management. She received her PhD in Economics from University College London. Dr Burgess has held positions as an economist in the London Environmental Economics Center (LEEC) of the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), the Environment Department at University of York, and the Department of Economics at University of Wyoming. She has served as a consultant and policy analyst for a variety of national, international and non-governmental agencies, including UN organizations, the World Bank and the OECD.
