James Ashley is a Senior European Economist and Director in Barclays Capital’s Global Research Division. He is responsible for research on euro area business cycle analysis, and also covers the Scandinavian economies. James joined Barclays Capital in 2004 after five years at the Bank of England. While at the Bank, James performed several roles, including being responsible for short-term forecasting of inflation and GDP. James graduated with an MSc from University College London, and a BA from Durham University.
