David Henderson was formerly Head of the Department of Economics and Statistics at the OECD. Before that he had worked as an academic, as a British civil servant, and at the World Bank. He is now an independent author and consultant. In 1985 he gave the BBC Reith Lectures, which were published under the title of Innocence and Design: The Influence of Economic Ideas on Policy. Among his recent publications is The Changing Fortunes of Economic Liberalism (London: Institute of Economic Affairs, and Melbourne).
