Biagio Bossone chairs the Group of Lecce on global finance, is member of the surveillance committee of the Centre d’Études pour le Financement du Développement Local, and advises international organisations and governments on financial-sector development. He has been head of the evaluation unit of public investments at Italy’s Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and has been president of the Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino, executive director of the World Bank Group, and member of the IMF’s Executive Board. He has advised the High Commission on World Bank Reform, and was a member of EU and G10 central banking groups. He has taught international finance at the Universities of Palermo and Salento, and is (co-)author of studies about money, banking, and finance.
