Anthony J Makin is currently a Visiting Professor in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, Professor of Economics and Director of the APEC Study Centre at Griffith University, as well as a member of the National Economic Panel of the Economic Society of Australia. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Australian National University and has been an International Consultant Economist with the IMF, Senior Economist in the Australian federal departments of Finance and Treasury, and a convenor of the structural issues group of the Pacific Economic Co-operation Council (PECC). He is author of Global Finance and the Macroeconomy, Global Imbalances, Exchange Rates and Stabilization Policy, and International Macroeconomics, along with numerous journal articles on international economic issues.
