Alex Mandilaras is a lecturer in
economics at the University of Surrey
and Associate Director of the Surrey
Centre for International Economic
Studies. Having been awarded his
PhD in 2001 he has continued his
research into public finance,
international economics and financial
markets and has published in various
journals including The Manchester
School. With Graham Bird he is
currently examining the reserve
holding behaviour of crisis and noncrisis
countries, as well as the links
between fiscal imbalances and foreign
exchange market pressure.
