Shalendra D. Sharma is Professor at the University of San Francisco. His most recent books include, China and India in the Age of Globalization (Cambridge University Press, 2009) and Achieving Economic Development in the Era of Globalization (Routledge, 2007). His article ‘Can Massive Foreign Aid Eliminate Extreme Poverty? The Sachs-Easterly Debate’ was published in World Economics, vol. 8, no. 1, 2007. Sharma was the recipient of USF’s university-wide Distinguished Teaching Award for 1996/1997 and the university-wide Distinguished Research Award for 2002/2003. During the 2006–2007 academic year he was a Visiting Professor in the Departement Politieke Wetenschap at the Universiteit Leiden, the Netherlands.
