Thomas D. Willett is the Dean of the School of Politics and Economics and the Horton Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics, Claremont Graduate University and Claremont McKenna College. His areas of specialisation include international and monetary economics, political economy and economic policy, international financial crises and public choice or political economy analysis of national and international economic policies. A major facet of his professional activity has been to improve the dialogue between economists and political scientists and he has published widely in both leading economics and political science journals. He is the Director of the Claremont Institute for Economic Policy Studies, and former head of the International Research Department at the US Treasury.
