Nicholas Crafts is Professor of Economic History at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has published many articles and books on economic growth and is the author of Britain’s Relative Economic Performance, 1870–1999 (IEA, 2002). His current research programme includes an ESRC-financed project comparing the economic impacts of general purpose technologies.
