Vijay Joshi is a Fellow of Merton College, Oxford, and Reader in Economics, Oxford University. He has written (with I.M.D. Little) two major books, India’s Economic Reforms, 1991–2001 (OUP 1996) and India— Macroeconomics and Political Economy, 1964–1991, (World Bank and OUP 1994). He has also published widely in scholarly journals and elsewhere. He has served as Economic Adviser in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and as Special Adviser to the Governor, Reserve Bank of India.
