Dieter Brümmerhoff studied economics and received his PhD in economics from the Free University of Berlin, Germany. He was professor of economics at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Essen and is professor emeritus of economics at the University of Rostock. He is member of the scientific council of the German Federal Ministry of Finance. His main fields of research are public economics and national accounting.
